Throwback Thursday - Tim Burton Exhibition, Round Two

Ah, the Tim Burton Exhibition at the Seoul Metropolitan Museum of Art. One of my favorite memories to this day. I loved it so much I went twice. If you want to see the first time, click here.

We first stopped at the Umbrella Display at City Hall, because awesome and why not? I am always up for taking pictures of cool stuff.

 Well, I kinda need my hair to look like this again.

 We walked to the SeMA and bought our tickets. I already had seen everything and just wanted to take it all in.

 Of course, I had to have a Tim Burton inspired outfit again!

 I will never forget seeing the props from my favorite movies, Batman's mask and Edward's suit... and the Black Light room with the eerie music and carousel. Sorry, no photos of those since they weren't allowed in the exhibition rooms.

 This time, I did make it to the gift shop and came back with a small notebook for my collection!

 I am secretly wishing he does another Exhibition, somewhere close to me and soon, because this was one of my favorite things EVER.

Man VS Crazy Military Spouses

Dudes, seriously, has it been that long? I can't believe I haven't posted since October and it's already December. Shame on me, readers. Shame on me. 

Anyway, I had a fun adventure today with my friends! We got to meet Adam Richman from Man VS. Food! How cool is that?

I remember my husband showing me the flyer about him coming to Korea and he was going to be at Yongsan for autographs and photos. I must confess, however that when I woke up this morning I had completely forgotten that it was today. I have had a rough last couple of weeks so it's hard to keep up with everything that's going on. I had a Dr's appointment so I left the house looking like my messy self. At the hospital, I heard someone mention it and I was so grateful because I could never forgive myself if I missed out on meeting this awesome guy!

So I made my way to the PX for some necessary Christmas shopping (an unnecessary shoe shopping) and wandered around while I waited for him to show up. When the time was getting closer, I ran to the book section to buy his book so he could sign it for me but it was already sold out. Sad Panda. On my way to the register I found my friend Miranda, first in line, waiting for him. I asked her to save me a spot and checked out as fast as I could.

I found out afterwards that Adam Richman is Miranda's "TV Boyfriend". I mean I really like the guy and I love his show but this is Miranda's territory right here. She took him a huge bag of Korean snacks and had bought the book in advance, how thoughtful is that?

 

 I was so star-struck when he walked in, but just look at Miranda's face when her time to meet him was approaching! Have you ever seen anyone happier?

 Adam was such a cool guy. He was very grateful for Miranda's gesture and got up to hug her and pose for some pics, he even took photos with Flat Stanley!

 After my crazy friends Aimee and Crystal had their turn, it was mine. Please ignore my messy hair and my lack of make-up and well, my size and just LOOK, I have a photo with Adam Richman (And also that other BBQ guy that I had no idea who he was until today, he was pretty cool too!)

 Adam and I talked a little bit about Colombian food, obviously! and he messed up my name, obviously, (Everybody messes up my name) but he was kind enough to get a new flyer and sign it again for me. Such a funny and charismatic guy! It really was great to be able to talk to him for a few minutes.

 I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I read what he wrote for me. Chicharrones Foreva'... Seriously, how can you NOT love this guy?

 I wish I could have stayed longer to take photos of my other friends with Adam. My friends Julia and Allie had a blast with him too, and their kids got to meet him. Their photos are super adorable.

This was a great start to my weekend and I had a blast. Can't wait to see who else will come around, courtesy of the USO!

Seoul Zombie Walk 2013

Can I just start by saying that this was awesome? Ok. It was. Happy Halloween everyone!

 Even though the walk wasn't on Halloween (Actually it was like, more than a month before Halloween) I thought it was appropriate to post it today.

 I found out about the Zombie Walk randomly, like two days before the event, with somebody's post on Facebook asking questions about it. Decided to do my own research and found the event. I asked my friend Kathie if she would want to join us and I knew she (and her family) would be on board! Hubs and I went over to Kathie's and all of us got zombified there. Even her two little girls!

 We headed to the subway station to meet with our friend Marisa and her family. Some of the organizers of the event were handing out these cool stickers! Also, check out my nails.

 I have to say Kathie is one of the most creative people I have ever met and she brought it up this time by making "brains" for us zombies to eat. Don't they look disgustingly delicious? Thanks Kathie!

 The hubby and I were having a lot of fun. I kept joking about the movie "Warm Bodies" with him. I am so lucky to have someone to geek out with and who is on board with all the fun things I want to do.

 I have to say, I was feeling pretty confident with my zombie outfit and make-up... and then we got to the park. These people really stepped it up. There were AMAZING costumes and some serious make-up skills going on. If I'm ever in a Zombie Walk again, I'm bringing my A-Game.

 It was raining but that didn't stop people from showing up, it just made it more fun and the gloomy day went perfect with the mood of the zombie walk.

 We started the walk through Hongdae. It was really fun looking at people make "WTF?" faces or get spooked by some of the more elaborated zombies.

 This shot is a little blurry but I couldn't help but share it, because I thought this little boy was the bomb. Seriously, that's how I want my kids to be and hopefully we will be the kind of parents to make it happen.

 There was an after-party for the zombie walk, but we decided to find some food instead. Zombies gotta eat and with so many of them around, brains weren't going to do the trick. We headed to a small Italian restaurant in Kathie's neighborhood and I can only imagine how six people in complete Zombie gear, in the middle of September, must have looked like for that poor Korean waitress who was all alone in there.

And well, Zombies gotta go home too so here's me in the subway. We got some pretty good stares through the subway system.

This was a fantastic day and unfortunately, I know that I wont be here for next year's walk but if by some off chance I am (or if we move to a city where they do them too), I will definitely do it again.
