Have I told you I love dogs?

I love dogs.

I love dogs more than words can express.

If you know me, you know that when we moved to Korea we weren't allowed to bring our pup Chelsea with us, so she had to stay with our family in Colombia while my husband is stationed here. We miss her so, SO much. Every once in a while, we need our puppy fix and back in March (Yes, March, don't judge me.) we visited Cafe Gaene for the first time. 

There are so many beautiful dogs. When you get the menu, you also get a chart with their photos and their names so you can call them over to your table and know which ones are not so friendly!

Can someone please explain these to me?

 The entrance price to Cafe Gaene is 8,000KRW and it includes a drink and unlimited puppy cuddles. The husband had an iced coffee and I had a peach tea.

Most of the dogs at Cafe Gaene are very friendly, but you can definitely see that they're also tired. Playing with so many humans can wear any pooch out! The daschsunds (Sp?) are just happy to snuggle in your lap all day long.

We feel bad for these guys sometimes... they definitely don't have that much room to play, and they have people messing with them all the time, but I guess I am just happy that they have a home and people who actually pay to go play with them. You can also tell that the staff absolutely adores them.

 I know a lot of people say that this place is dirty and whatnot, but I really don't think so! They make sure that you sanitize your hands before entering and they're always very quick to clean any "accident" that may happen. The place is a little run down, furniture has holes here and there but seriously, we're talking about over 20 dogs in one place. It's going to happen.

Overall, we had a great time at Cafe Gaene. I wish Chelsea was here so I could bring her with me so she could play with all the other dogs.

Lily Cat - Cat Cafe

Hello there! I'm kinda, sorta back. I know it's been a while. I've been working really hard, exploring Seoul and had a wonderful family visit so all of this has kept me a little away from the blog. Today I bring you the LilyCat Cat Cafe in Myeong-dong. I visited this place back in March with my beloved adventure partner Tracie. Damn, I miss that girl. She had an assignment for her photo class and it was to take a photo of an animal. (We hit two cat cafes on this day, will blog about the other one later!). I was more than happy to tag along because seriously, everybody knows that I love animals. We got there right at opening, and got to wait around in this lovely sitting room that was apparently decorated by Barbie herself. We noticed all the board games and found out that this cafe also doubles as a Board Game cafe and you can borrow the games and play while having a drink.

 We ordered our drinks, Tracie got a tea and I got a Strawberry bubble tea that was absolutely delicious. Got our slippers, got sanitizer and headed to the "Cat room".

 The first thing I have to say about this place is that the natural light that comes in is just gorgeous. A wall to wall window makes this possible and the cats love it.

There were so many cute cats but only a few of them were really friendly. Most of them just wanted to be left alone and sleep on their own. But they're cats so that's kinda what they do, I guess. The cats were friendlier at the cat cafe that I visited with my friend Chandra. I even got to hold one over there and none of these would let me do it.

 They are gorgeous, though. I'm happy just to be around them...

 ...and see them be awesome.

 A couple of them had a lot of that icky eye-goo. I worried that they were maybe sick but I really don't know that much about cats, and we really don't speak a lot of Korean so we didn't ask.

 I was mesmerized by this guy with heterochromia iridium. Just beautiful.

 A thing I liked a lot about this cafe is that the cats are in a separate room so if for some reason someone wants to watch the cats while they have a drink, but not be close to them, they can. There are also lockers for you to put your stuff in so you don't have to worry about your bag or anything.

 I stared at this guy for a while because he looks like a tiny leopard. I had never seen a cat like this one before.

 This guy definitely wanted to be left alone...

 On our way out, the signs for the bathrooms caught my eye, aren't they cute?

 I am really sorry that I don't have better directions and I can't remember how much we paid but it was around 8,000KRW. I had a lot of fun at this cat cafe and I would definitely come back. It was very clean (besides cat hair, but hey, it IS a cat cafe) and the drinks were great.
